WHAT IS A COMMUNITY MANAGER?
In human resources, attitude is what multiplies the sum of knowledge and skills; without it, a person is simply a small sum.
If we want to manage our social media, the community manager must be in daily contact with the sales team and, among other things, is responsible for energizing the company's presence on social networks, detecting needs, and contributing significantly to increasing sales and brand image on social networks.
“This person must enjoy learning, researching trends, work tools, companies, users, and customers.”
Skills a Community Manager Should Have
Knowledge of corporate communication, marketing, and advertising:
- Knowing the language of the marketing and advertising world is a must in order to understand and carry out the different communication techniques, both online and offline.
- Be a good writer and advertising copywriter.
- Create and write valuable content and attractive headlines, as well as be able to write messages for users that are clear, understandable, and empathetic.
- Know the brand and the products of the company they work for and its processes (taking part in the overall objectives and communicating internally), as well as study competing companies and, in this way, defend their brand, products, users, and customers.
- Select the best tools on the market: Among the wide variety of existing tools (blogs, microblogs, apps, hybrid applications, podcasts, social networks, virtual communities, etc.), they must know how to choose and expertly handle the ones best suited to their needs, whether free or paid.
In conclusion, it can be said that if there are no human resources in the company for this task, executives must find at least an hour or two a day for these matters, making this practice, essential nowadays, a routine part of their activity. Failing that, training employees always ends up producing good results.
