[VIDEO] SEO EXAMPLE FROM A REAL COMPANY
In our previous videos, we saw what SEO is and what the best implementation practices and strategies are. This time, let's look at how a company called Pequeño Cerdo Capitalista has properly optimized the pages of its website.
PequeñoCerdoCapitalista.com is a blog by Sofía Macías in which she gives you tips for better managing your personal finances through her posts, and she uses smart content such as books, audiobooks and podcasts, and also organizes workshops and conferences.
As a StartUp, Pequeño Cerdo Capitalista wanted to reach two important goals: to have an optimized site to generate more leads and to acquire more customers in its first 6 months.
By optimizing the website, they saw a 60% increase in their monthly lead generation, a 55% increase in traffic to their social media and a 10% increase in visitors to their website, all within the first 2 months.
Let's look at what they wrote in a post on their blog to see how they did it.
First, let's look at the page about How do I get out of debt? Should I take out a loan?.
Did they choose the right keyword?
They're addressing a common topic that their buyer personas would very likely want to learn about: "Getting out of debt and taking out a loan". They're speaking directly to a concern of their personas. Second, they're mirroring the language their personas would use when searching: “How do I get out of debt? Should I take out a loan?”. They've also created content that uses natural language in its variations of the long-tail keyword, instead of using the exact same phrase over and over.
Next, have they optimized this page around their keyword?
You can see that the main keyword is in the page title, the URL and the body of the post, and… although you can't see it, it's also behind the image in the alt text.
Then, are they linking to other sources? In fact, they have both, internal and external links, and they also contain the keywords they want to rank for.
Are they offering a good user experience? Their website is intuitive and easy to navigate; it's simple. They also provide clear steps for people to subscribe to their newsletter or leave a comment, which will help convert those visitors into leads.
Are they promoting their content? We can see that they have social media buttons and the word “Share,” which is quite large and stands out on their site, allowing visitors to their site to share the content themselves. They've also shared this post on their Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook accounts.
And finally, how well is Pequeño Cerdo Capitalista building relationships outside its site that have generated links back to its own site?
If we search for the company's name, we find articles on other websites, such as Forbes, for example, that talk about them.
It looks like Pequeño Cerdo Capitalista is doing very well and is on the right track to rank for these keywords and bring quality visitors to its website.
And there you have it, an example of how a real company has properly optimized its website for search engines.
