What Is E-tail?

E-tail (or E-tailing) is the sale of retail products over the internet. It is short for "Electronic Retailing," and the term came into use around 1995, at the same time as the terms E-mail (electronic mail) and E-business (electronic business); however, today it is more common to hear the term E-commerce.

Electronic Commerce, or E-commerce

It is one of the fundamental pillars for businesses that have decided to venture into selling online.

Brands are investing more and more resources in content for their online presence, whether on their official websites, on social media or on various e-commerce portals. Content is key to positioning yourself in the market and winning consumer preference, but you need to understand it and know how to create and manage it.

These 3 key points will help you improve your content production by focusing on specific aspects of it.

1. Priority on Visuals

It is important to remember that the internet offers a huge range of visual possibilities for marketing.

When creating content, you need to envision it as video, since video is the most appealing medium for internet users. Product videos should be short and concise, but with enough information to communicate everything we want to say.

2. Consumer Participation

With social media, a brand can have a more direct connection with its own customers and invite them to engage with it, so that a campaign can create enough buzz to attract attention.

On top of this, consumers can even share experiences with the brand that may be useful to the rest of the audience. This type of content (useful content) is the same trend that includes, for example, tutorial videos.

3. Plenty of Information

Customers are not only looking for a good product with attractive images to go with it; today they also want all the information possible about the product in question.

Businesses should provide answers on their websites to every possible question their customers might ask about their products. They should also manage their social media efficiently and, where appropriate, consider new tools such as chatbots.
