3 COMMON INBOUND MARKETING MISTAKES AND HOW TO AVOID THEM
Mistakes are part of any job, and they can never be 100% avoided. To minimize your mistakes and avoid the most common obstacles, here we share the 3 most common Inbound Marketing mistakes.
Buyer Persona development
The most common Inbound Marketing mistake is superficial research into your Buyer Personas. Too many marketers trust their intuition and develop these profiles, which are decisive for the strategy, based on assumptions.
The only way to get information accurate enough to create them is to conduct in-depth interviews with your former, current, and potential customers, and even coworkers, and analyze the information to discover trends, similarities, and differences.
Content strategy
Those who make the first Buyer Persona mistake will also fall into this one. If you don't know exactly who you want to reach, it's very hard to focus your content properly, so to correct this, you have to go back to the beginning. Another all-too-common mistake is creating content about the topics that interest the writer and thinking, "this is what I think, so others probably think so too".
Getting good results with this strategy is possible, but it's just good luck and isn't viable in the long run. The solution? Buyer Persona and keyword research.
S.M.A.R.T. goals
Any strategy or campaign must have realistic objectives in order to analyze its success. It's not enough to have a vague idea in mind of "selling more" or "improving the company's image." Make your objectives specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound, so that you can really evaluate whether you did well or, if not, what didn't work.
