Keeping parents happy

At an educational institution, you have to take care of the students, but it is equally important to take care of the parents. Their opinions, comments, and suggestions should always be taken into account by the school.

We can always do things better, so we bring you 4 initiatives that will help you maintain good relationships and communication with your students' parents.

Send them a weekly email.

Send weekly or biweekly emails to your parent database. This way, you can maintain constant communication and always inform them in a timely manner about school news or activities.

If you have a marketing tool that allows it, automate these emails so it automatically sends the latest news and events published on the school blog.

Open a direct line of communication with teachers.

Allow parents to have a direct means of communication with the teachers who teach their children. Without the school or the students themselves acting as the intermediary for the message, offer a space to connect, whether a platform or existing channels like WhatsApp or Facebook Groups.

Be mindful of their time.

Dedicating time to our children's education is essential, but sometimes it is difficult to attend meetings during working hours.

We are parents, but we also have to work. As much as possible, avoid requesting their presence for matters you could inform them about through digital channels.

A couple of ideas:

- Livestream a parent meeting, so those who are unable to attend in person can attend virtually from their phone.

- Set up your website so they can pay tuition, etc., by credit card or bank transfer, and also generate the corresponding invoice.

This will allow both the school and parents to save time and speed up several tasks.

Send a digital survey to assess the students' social environment.

To facilitate the greatest possible integration between students and their environment, it is necessary to understand and define, as broadly as possible, the social setting that surrounds them.

A digital survey they can answer from their phone will help us effectively learn about the type of family, their situation, and the expectations they have of the institution their children attend.

When it is finished, send a report with conclusions drawn from the study and recommendations to improve the students' educational and social quality.

These are just a few ways to nurture the relationship with parents; there are several strategies you can apply depending on the school's situation and needs.

At Digitalegia, we can help you attract and retain your students. Schedule a free consultation so we can get to know you and see how we can help.
