User experience design, or UX, is becoming an increasingly important area for companies. The growth of web industries and service innovations creates higher expectations among consumers, and, on the other hand, a poor user experience can have a decisive impact on a company's success. The purpose of UX design is to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty through the usefulness and enjoyment of interacting with the product. In other words, it is the digital or physical design of products that are easy and pleasant to use.
Pillars of a Good User Experience
A good user experience is about emotion. How does it feel to use a product or service? In the case of a website, the main elements would be:
- Easily finding the necessary information and understanding what the site is about.
- Understanding how the navigation works and the hierarchy of the pages, and being able to use it without difficulty.
- Feeling that the content is visually pleasing and that the visual elements support its usefulness.
- Value creation and the WOW effect: Delivering a complete experience with unique added value.
All of this can be created through thorough market research and a study of the potential consumer and their expectations and abilities, as well as a web design method based on continuous improvement and development.
We can conclude that UX design is a combination of psychology, market research and visual creativity. Another term closely related to UX design that should be mentioned is user interface design, or UI design, which is often confused with UX design.
