MICRO-INFLUENCERS FOR YOUR SMALL BUSINESS
The fact that an influencer has thousands or millions of followers doesn't mean a certain campaign will be more effective than if the brand works with an influencer who has fewer followers.
When blogs became more common and social media started to become increasingly relevant in people's daily lives, the prototype of the influencer kept changing and evolving into what it is today.
In today's post, we'll give you some reasons that will help you figure out whether it might be time to contact an influencer for your brand.
What is a micro-influencer?
Micro-influencers are ordinary people who have the power to build loyal, engaged communities.
They usually start out by investing their own money in the products or brands they recommend, which makes them seem more real and honest. They create content around their hobbies, passions and interests, share it with others through different channels and always interact closely with their followers.
If you're reading this, it's because you've surely seen the power influencers can have in a digital marketing strategy, both for brand awareness and for increasing your website traffic and generating more sales.
Why use micro-influencers in your marketing strategy?
1. Because they have higher and better engagement.
Although micro-influencers don't have as many followers as their counterparts, they do tend to achieve much higher engagement rates; their followers are loyal.
2. Because it's more affordable.
Since most of them are relatively ordinary people who participate on social media, upload videos and photos or write blog posts, brands can generally work with them at a low cost. In some cases, it's enough to give them a sample of your product or service so they can try it and share their positive opinion.
3. To achieve greater segmentation.
One of their key characteristics is that their followers recognize them for their knowledge and influence in a particular niche. Brands that work with micro-influencers have the opportunity to target their potential customers specifically. They can easily choose one whose followers have a specific combination of gender, age, income and interests.
4. Because they're more authentic.
The advantage of working with micro-influencers is that they are normal, everyday people, and that is what makes them so popular in the first place. If they genuinely like a brand, then there's a much greater chance that their followers will also be interested in the product or service.
