INBOUND MARKETING FOR TOURISM COMPANIES

Tourism is one of Mexico's most important sectors, contributing 8.9% of the economy. In the most popular tourist destinations, there is an abundance of services, from hotels to excursions and events, designed exclusively for visitors, and there is also growing competition among the country's different destinations. Therefore, companies in the sector need to apply modern marketing strategies to stand out from the competition.

7 out of 10 tourists today book their trips online, and it's estimated that more than 90% of travelers research destinations and services on the internet before making a purchasing decision. You may be asking: how do you get all these tourists to find your service?

The tourism inbound marketing strategy combines a variety of marketing techniques for each stage of the buying process, from the initial research to delighting customers after the process is complete. Here we present the most important pillars of inbound marketing, so you can start planning your strategy.

Buyer Persona

The pillar of inbound marketing is your Buyer Persona, that is, a semi-fictional representation of your ideal customer. All your actions will be based on this representation, so it's important to carry out in-depth research into who you want to attract to your company.

Content creation

Once you've developed your Buyer Persona, it's time to start creating content to attract them to your company. Don't write about yourself; that way, the people who don't know you yet won't find you. Write about what interests your Buyer Persona and what they're looking for information about, whether that's the tourist activities and attractions in your area, how to get there, or what to do.

SEO

Doing SEO, or search engine optimization, is important so that your potential customers find your content among the thousands of search results they get when planning their trips. Get familiar with researching and using keywords as well as other techniques that help you appear in the top results, which receive the vast majority of clicks.

Customer experience

Once you've managed to attract visitors to your website and convince them to book your services, a very important part of the inbound strategy begins. Remember that tourists look for reviews and opinions of services on the internet before booking them, and there are plenty of popular sites where they can leave their comments, positive or negative, about their experience. So work to give your customers the best possible experience, and you'll see how word-of-mouth marketing will get you more and more customers.
