3 STEPS TO OPTIMIZE YOUR BLOG FOR SEARCH ENGINES
Your blog is probably a very important component of your strategy for attracting organic traffic to your website. Here we show you, in 3 simple steps, how you can optimize your blog for search engines.
1. Focus on 1-2 long-tail keywords
Before you start writing, take a moment to come up with 1-2 long-tail keywords for the topic you're going to write about. It's very important to define your keywords before writing - this helps you create a more cohesive text and saves you the extra work of modifying your text later.
To define the best keywords, use programs like Google AdWords or HubSpot's keyword tool, which tell you the monthly searches for your keyword and how hard it is to rank for it, and also give suggestions for similar keywords.
2. Place them in the right parts
Now that you've defined your keywords and you're starting to write, you have to include them in certain parts of your blog post. These parts are: the title, the URL, a header and the body text, the meta description, and the alt texts of your images.
Search engine spiders read certain parts of the text, and based on that, they determine what your page is about. That's why you have to make sure these parts include your keyword.
3. Make your website mobile friendly
Most of your audience reads content on their cell phones, and search engines are taking this into account when determining page rankings. Because of this, make sure all your pages are optimized for all devices.
